Okay, where to begin.
Hi I'm Coolmac and this is the new Darker Vision. Some of you may have visited the original incarnation of this site, some of you may have even managed to not block its ugly late 90's style html out of your minds. Anyway it hadn't been touched since late 2000 and despite this fact, the site was still there sort of, and still managed to pull a decent number of hits a day (I am still not sure why, decent also being relative).
Anyway, DemonSpawn is the one with the runaway pen/typing fingers. She's the one you're going to see a lot of on this site. I'll post the occasional short story and sometimes post articles here, but for the most part (at least in the beginning) I'm going to be in charge of all the coding for this site. So you have suggestions for the web site mail them to suggestions@darkervision.com. In fact any suggestions for us, can be mailed to that email address, but, and this is important, the subject line must start with the words ATT:Coolmac or ATT:DemonSpawn. No spaces, just like that. If you don't, chances are it'll end up in the spam folder and we'll never ever see it. There are some other rules, as far as emailing me goes. I am doing this site for many reasons, and one of them to to learn all the intricasies of HTML, PHP, MySQL and linux. So if you mail me saying I should use one of these premade site builders, if you mail me saying you'd like to offer your services (free or otherwise) in coding this site, thanks, but no thanks, I plan on learning this the hard way.
Well, what you are seeing here is Darker Vision version 2.01 beta. I slapped this together in a little over 3 hours of my time. I haven't coded in HTML since late 2000, and so this has been a rather rapid learning experience. The site is no where near complete, so if you're thinking OMG this site's design sucks, it kinda does. It will get better, though I will try to keep it simple, low on graphics and bandwidth, high on content.

Okay I just finished reading DemonSpawns post. I feel like this is just like work, management
has just gone and made some promises about functionality; and me, the coder,
sits there saying, "we are?"
Well, first things first, I will try get this site as
automated as possible, with all the articles/novels/poems in a database that is easy to
add to. Once this is up and running well, we should be able to add content to this site as
often as we like with little to no coding work. Once thats done, I plan on adding the ability for
any Tom, Dick or Harriette to add comments to any piece of writing on the site. Then, if I get
that working perfectly, then I will think about coding in the ability to logon to the site
and have an actual user history with us. If that works, then I can think about PP and NPA
designations. (I don't think DemonSpawn realises just how many people will actually strive to get
and NPA rating)
Well thats about all from me for now. As the week goes by, you will see links become active, sections opening up. Once most of the sections are going, then you will see .php extensions appearing, at which point I think the site will really rock.
Thats about all from me, wait did I just say that, hmm yes I did. You'll see me repeating myself a lot. I blame old age, though I think that may be a cop out since I'm told I'm actually quite young.
