I know I've been very silent on the subject of our brave new leader since his official election. And why not? I've been waiting, biding my time, in the hopes that he will do something to vindicate all of my comparisons of him to George Dubbya. But, no luck. The man who once flouted the law and flaunted his corrupt gains has now fallen into line and become what all of the other leaders this country has had since its burgeoning democracy was born: careful. This is not a bad thing. I would suggest that he who promised everyone all they wanted in order to gain power is now hanging back and wondering how to juggle all of his debts. And the longer he sits on the bench deciding whether to fish or cut bait, we're all that much safer.
