There are some days when you read something and you just have to say, Oh My Fucking Word!

Well the Washington Monthly has a post currently about John Gilmore suing the US government for requiring people to show their ID before boarding a commercial airplane. Now requiring valid ID to board a commercial flight doesn't really sound that stupid, until you realise that the justice department is claiming that the law that requires this is secret, and cannot be shown to the public!

It's a rather interesting take on the old "ignorance of the law is not an excuse". Now they're enforcing ignorance to be completely sure that you don't have an excuse.
